Danielle O’Connor Akiyama is based in Toronto where she has been painting for over 30 years, during which time her flamboyant artwork has become highly sought after worldwide. Her exhilarating floral images are vibrant with life, energy and riotous colour. Her deceptively loose and impressionistic style disguises the intricacy of her brush work and the stylish formality of each delicate composition, introducing an almost tangible mood of tranquility and harmony into any setting. Her interest in eastern culture has contributed to this individual style. Trained in the fine art of Japanese brush painting, she is always conscious of the impact of each individual brushstroke has on the final composition.
