Local Artist - Alison Parry

Among those exhibiting in Art in Woodstock are three recent graduates who all live locally and whose work is all very different. They are Alison Parry, exhibiting at Creative Art Gallery, Emma Smith at the Old School House and Sarah Moncrieff, exhibiting at the local garage!
Environmentally minded Emma returned to University as a mature student and Sarah changed direction entirely to pursue her artistic talent. Alison traveled for 6 months before emabarking on her degree at University.

Emma Smith Painter - Abstract
Emma has recently completed a two year part-time foundation course in Fine Art which has given birth to a new direction in her art. her paintings in acrylic and oil on canvas and metal and collage prints, all embody a bold abstract style, exploring colour and shape alongside issues of humanity and the environment.

Alison Parry Mixed Media - Abstract

Exhibiting at Creative Art Gallery - will be in attendance on 24th to 27th OctoberAlison graduated with a 2:1 in Fine Art from Southampton Solent University in July 2006. The central focus of her work is memories. By exploring a variety of mediums and techniques, such as paint, print, sound and video, Alison portrays her concept and ideas in many different ways."Everyone has memories hidden somewhere; secrets untold; feelings unsaid; my work is a way of me expressing some of these".

Sarah Moncrieff Painter - Cityscapes

Sarah is an artist living and working in Woodstock. She has been painting all her life but in the last few years decided to give up her career as a Solicitor and return to University to study Fine Art in order to concentrate on painting full time. Since graduating in 2005, Sarah has had several solo exhibitions and has been involved in numerous group shows. Her paintings are sold in various galleries and she is also a freelance knitwear designer, selling her designs to various national publications. She now teaches art for Oxford County Council's Adult Education department and on a private basis.
