Peter Wileman Exhibiton

Peter Wileman, Vice President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, is now exhibiting at Creative Art Gallery.

Peter's powerful oil paintings are characterised by expressive, painterly techniques and demonstrate an atmospheric impact that few contemporary artists can hope to rival. His artistic achievements have been recognised with various accolades, including the Frank Herring award at the Mall Galleries in London and the Cornellisen Prize for Outstanding Work. As one of the most illustrious landscape painters on the contemporary scene he exhibits regularly at a number of prestigious art venues including the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the New England Art Club and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters of which he is now Vive President. We are extremely excited to have a collection of Peter's work in the gallery.

These magnificent new collectable Canvas Editions from Peter Wileman present water as a living mirror. Seas, rivers and lagoons reflect blazing sunsets and glorious cloudscapes in a dazzling array of purples and golds. We also have a range of brand new previously unseen original paintings - both of his more traditional landscape pieces and his abstract works.

Listening to Peter talk about his paintings when he recently visited the gallery was an inspiring experience. Despite a love of speed and excitement, he is a serious and reflective artist. He works on each individual composition over a lengthly period, but his passion and his insistence on perfection never wavers.

Peter comments that in the early stages of a painting he tries to "get the colours talking to each other," and anyone who has ever seen one of his dazzling landscapes or abstracts knows that the dialogue he creates this way is masterly.
